By Brendon Volegna

Disc Jockeying is also known as a fast and growing career that many young people choose to pursue, giving this career a try as it practically guarantees a shortcut to fame. With numerous new radio channels opening up in cities and the need for good disc jockeys increasing, the recognition of this unique profession is increasing. Due to the nature of digital DJs, there are more disc jockeys in the market then ever before. The unfortunate situation now is that people are willing to pay less for a great reduction in quality of service. Music is very easy to obtain now and so therefore a person can become a DJ in a day.

Disc jockeys are just not paid to blab. They have to play music as well and is really doing there job to entertain people well they are full-time entertainers. They are the ones who bring home the singer's voice, musicians as well as talents of a myriad of celebrities from the entertainment world. They also share stories about current news events and help keep listeners up to date on traffic, time and weather.

A lot of people prefer to have disc jockeys present at their parties but want them to play only mild music, sort of like creating an ambiance in the background, nothing that gets the guests to move or do anything at all for that matter. Others want their disc jockeys to really go all out and get the guests rocking from the minute they enter till the minute they leave. There are plenty of DJs who are able to provide professionally trained disc jockeys that can give their clients both kinds of music and everything that is in between.

A reputable DJ will bring with him an enormous selection of music, the state of the art music equipment and even an experienced organizer who will bring a selection of the music specifically requested by you, as well as the experience and understanding to create whatever it is that you want in your party. You can also expect an additional, extremely entertaining service as well, which is the photo booth.

DJs have various pieces of equipment which they use; it all depends on your level of expertise. For a beginner you will have to master the cue. The cue is the first basic equipment you will need to know how to use before you move on to the others. The function of a cue is to cue the different audio track between the different paths. Once you have mastered the cue then you can move on to other equipment and tasks like turntables, DJ mixers and creating mixes and adding special effects. A DJ mixer is different compared to a studio mixer, it can redirect the audio to a headphone port so that only the DJ can hear the music as well as embed a cross fader which allows smooth transitioning between music.
