Creating Your Own Holiday Wreaths Like A Boss

By Priscilla Sims

It's that time of the year again! Christmas songs are starting to blast off on your favorite retail store, when colors green, red and white can be seen almost everywhere and Santa Claus mascots are continuing to thrill your young ones. Should you decide to start decorating your home, complete that look with good ole' symbolic holiday wreaths.

Christmas wreath is a popular ornament during the holiday season, it brings a sense of warmth and joy to your home. Unlike other Christmas ornaments, a wreath has a great significance in celebrating the season. Its circular shape for example symbolizes the unconditional love Jesus has for every human being.

More so, the evergreen is a sign of life amid the cruel winter weather and candles represents the contrast between light and darkness. Indeed, one wreath is enough to symbolize Christmas altogether. But instead of lining up to the nearest store in town, why not skip that lines which are no doubt getting longer everyday and make your own wreath instead.

Getting all traditional during Christmas is not bad at all, however that does not mean spending tremendous amount of cash just for decoration alone. Why not save that cash for gifts and instead invite your family by making personalized decors including making wreaths. Wreath could be the simplest decor thus making one on your own may not be that challenging.

To start this simple project, secure a base first. Of course, it should be circular and strong enough to hold necessary stuffs to be pasted on it later on. Choose the material you would like to use for the wreath. One can cut out evergreens and start putting it on the base by using small wires or make it as simple as attaching news paper to it or wrapping it with a yarn.

Of course homeowners can stick with the traditional evergreen wreath, but one can also try new stuffs such as using a yarn, newspaper for example even gumdrop is possible. Pine cones, cinnamon sticks, almost everything can be used to make a great looking wreath. With the right color combination and decoration that wreath could be smashing.

To begin a good start, it is best to secure a reliable base before thinking as to what you really want your wreath to look like. Keep in mind, that a few more decorations have to be attached to your main material hence choosing a sloppy one may not be good enough to hold everything all at once, no matter how heavy it can get.

Creating holiday wreaths is not as hard as one might think it would be. It may not be the best thing that you have made, but surely the memories while creating it is beyond precious.
