Great For Bass Guitar Use

By Lucas Bennett

These headphones have a dynamic range (GREAT bass and clear treble, you can hear things in songs you had never noticed before, individual backup singers' voices, etc). They are very comfortable, and you can barely hear them when someone else is using them at a high volume. I never knew what I was really missing musically. Poor quality recordings, or overly compressed MP3s sound terrible compared to what these headphones are capable of. Even when silent, you will have trouble hearing what someone is saying to your face. The Sony 7506's might also be a tad more realistic in sound. Not to mention the fact that they only have about two hours of listening time on them. Even in comparison with higher end headphones, the sound quality for the MDR-7506 is still ranked as the top in my charts, as well as many other people's. They went on to suggest people who were looking for an improved sound should look elsewhere. I have a large head, and you can jack these out to fit even the largest head, yet they still fit snugly on my small-headed room mate. But the coiled cable would serve aircraft use well. The other ten percent are using MDR V6. He wont use any other brand or model.

I have not heard them with a headphone amplifier. Must mean something when a product like this still looks the same and sells for the same price after 16 years! I was recommended these by a friend and I purchased them without wearing them. If you want bullet proof, accurate, comfortable and best bang for the buck over the ear headphones, go with these. After hours of wearing the headphones I would highly recommend them to anyone.

First and foremost, excellent reproduction from bass into the high end, with unrivaled "punch" and clarity.

I bought a set of those new velour ones and am VERY happy almost two years now. This is A MUST BUY, trust me don't waste your money on those 200 dollar earphones. I would say I have bigger than normal sized ears and the large-diaphragm design, combined with the very soft leather-wrapped earpads, really helps in making the circumpolar design (wrapped around the ears as opposed to on top) work well. In rare circumstances or in the recording studio, it may be necessary. Hope my review helped. Being accustomed to the 7506 when I started to work with the 7509HD, in a rather fundamental way I didn't like them very much.

Would be worth checking out - you might save yourself twenty bucks. They are loud and full. They are very comfortable, sound good, and relatively durable.
