Why Wedding Photography is Pricey

By Claire Baker

Wedding photography can be a fairly expensive service to contribute to your wedding budget. A few people cannot see why this is or why a wedding photography package can be more expensive than other photography packages. There are 3 main reasons why photography packages can be expensive : missing a key photograph is risky, photography is a highly talented trade and digital photographs and revising are labour comprehensive.

The main reason which increases the price of wedding photography is risk. A wedding is one of the biggest days in a couples ' life together and there aren't any 2nd probabilities if the wedding photographer misses a key moment. This places lots of additional pressure on the snapper. The prospects of missing an important shot is increased thanks to the hustle and bustle of a wedding. It is simple for guests to stroll into a shot, particularly if taking their own photos. In addition, poor lighting or being in the wrong position can caused missed or bad quality shots.

To capture all of the important shots and extra moments and guest portraits, a wedding photographer must be relentless and display wonderful focus on detail. They must position themselves perfectly for each shot. It's a special ability to be able to be pushy enough to get the finest position without being very intrusive.

These type of skills can only be developed through experience and frequently photographer's will work alongside another wedding photographer as an assistant before hitting the market themselves.

Wedding photography is also labour comprehensive. This is partially because shooting a webbing can regularly be an 8 to 12 hour job and partially because of the amount of modifying a needed afterwards to produce the highest possible quality of photographs. Post production for a standard wedding shoot can involve processing and modifying approximately 800 or more pictures from throughout the day.
