Perhaps you have been thinking of taking up a new hobby. That is a great idea. If you are yet to decide on what you want to pursue, consider attending a painting class. If you look around, you should be able to find tips on how to use alcohol ink in your area or even online. It is not difficult, and you can expect to learn the basics in months.

When it comes to abstract painting, you will not find a better medium than alcohol ink. It easy to use and contains no acidic parts. Some people use it to bring into existence breathtaking abstract collages. If you have some creativity and imagination, there are many ways to manipulate it into wonderful creations. Get the right supplies, and you are ready to start.

Buy ink. Several places carry this product including your town store. Do a quick online search, and you should get a couple of suppliers who provide great products at affordable prices. Choose ink that has kits with many colors that can complement one another. If you are clueless about hues, do some reading on the worldwide web or in relevant magazines and books. Understand beforehand how different color mix and the effect you could create.

The next item you procure is a blending solution. Consider buying this together with the medium. It causes dilution of paint leading to the creation of unique effects when added on top of it. While you are not required to have it, it helps you to develop more stunning effects. Once one is done with the job, you need the solution to wash your brush and hands.

You should have bought the material upon which you will start practicing. There are different kinds of materials, and their quality and pricing might differ. It is important to read about such and make a suitable choice. Yupo paper is a popular option, but you can also use metal, primed wood, glass, gloss paper, and ceramics among other kinds of surfaces.

Using your pen, draw out an outline of your painting. Using this ink helps you to come up with more intricate pictures. Draw the picture on Yupo paper. After that, pour some of the media into a plastic palette or paper. Using a brush, absorb the medium and fill in the drawing. Some of the pictures you can think of are landscapes, mountains, and flowers.

Since you are aiming at an abstract look, paint freehand. Typically, the material you are using is used to develop abstract art. For the best results, forget about being organized and orderly for a while and let your imagination flow. Different hues can be used to create different work each time. Darker colors result in brooding artwork while brighter colors let you create happier pieces of art.

Allow a few drops onto your canvas. The drops form themselves into pools you can play with. Take your brush and make light strokes that spread the medium out. Repeat the process until you are satisfied. Have your blending solution on top of the wet work and watch the resultant reaction. This solution helps you get rid of any color you no longer want. Allow the painting to dry.
