Discovering How To Create Landscape Abstract Paintings

By Brenda Davis

The most important lesson an emerging artist or painter can learn is that while you can use a model, it is not necessary to paint exactly what one sees. For example, when it comes to Landscape Abstract Paintings, there are many variables one can use to make the art more creative. In some cases, this may be using animated features. In others, it can be to paint in a way which leaves a great deal of interpretation to the viewer.

The content in this genre is often inspired by an idea, object or landscape. In most cases, painters painting these type of paintings work with acrylics, oils and color mixing. While this is the case, there are also those whom are considered abstract artists whom create 3D and mixed-media pieces.

Most modern painters and artists find inspiration in everyday life. Whether drawing from life experience, fiction, non-fiction, poetry or prose, the outcome is often the same. For, the outcome is often a piece which leaves viewers questioning the inspiration and meaning behind the art.

Individuals can often find art classes in a number of different locations around the world. In addition, there are also a number of online classes offered, many which use YouTube videos as part of the coursework. One such class is offered by Brian Ryder. Whether a natural and able to pick up a paintbrush and begin painting or one whom needs more direction, these classes can often be beneficial.

In Beyond Realism, the best known class offered by Mr. Ryder, students learn about attitudes, moods, methods, composition and color. During the class, teacher and students work side-by-side on a project. After which, many students go on to become well known artists, some whom later show paintings and other pieces in modern art museums and galleries.

The teacher also provides methods for students to learn how to use layers when it comes to creating the abstract shapes. After which, students are taught how to use complementary colors which will allow the shapes to become more visible. In addition, there are a number of training videos now available on YouTube and other video sites. When desiring to delve even deeper, those interested can also find a number of art classes online, including offerings from a number of universities on the Coursera and edX websites.

The Artists Network website provides a great deal of information on these classes as well as a full length video, reviews and materials list for creating paintings in this genre. In addition, there are also definitions and examples of various styles. For example, wet-into-wet and wet-on dry. Individuals can also learn how to choose the most workable landscapes and models.

The actual process of painting an abstract piece can either be done very quickly, or take years to complete. Artists often use a variety of shapes, sizes, colors and under-paintings to develop the abstractness of a piece. As such, the more creative an individual can be when creating this type of painting, often the more interest the piece will garner from curators, galleries, museums and buyers.
