As they start burrowing beneath the surface looking for food such as alfalfa, grasses, and other plants, they often leave distinct large mounds of dirt. These mounds can simply ruin a healthy lawn and hinder with mowing tools. You also need to cover the holes with a cardboard or plastic to keep the lights out of the hole. The rodents have actually poor vision but they can see light. Thus, if they notice light coming from the trap, they would never come out. You just have to wait for a few minutes. Once trapped, remove them and figure out what to do with the dead gophers.

The key using the traps is the appropriate placement. Having the knowledge makes a great difference for you. This chore becomes less devastating and could result in a pest free lawn or garden. Success in the attempt to eliminate or reduce the rodents, no matter what the procedure or tools utilized, requires that you locate and use the tunnel in the right way.
