Aside from kittens, dogs are among the most popular pets in the world and they won the hearts of many pet lovers. They are sweet, smart, affectionate, loving, and easy to train. Dogs are wonderful pets because they are compassionate, giving, playful, and fun. Actually, a new pet can give you and your family members with more unreserved love that you never imagine.

But always remember that having a pet is a lifetime responsibility. Once you have decided to get a pet as an additional family member, there are different breeds to select which families can choose. The Cavalier King Charles Spaniels is one of those breeds that people are in love with. It is becoming one of the popular breeds because of their beautiful and big eyes.

The good news is that Cavaliers love to be surrounded by humans and hate it when they are left alone for longer periods of time. Moreover, they make good companions for people who like to walk with them every day and prepare a yard for them to run and chase. Their temperament, energy levels, and trainability make them a perfect option for animal lovers.

Cavaliers are usually called as sporting breed toys because of the combination of toy and spaniel traits. Although they are sweet tempered and love cuddling, but they have more athletic instincts than you might expect. Indeed, they can be a good chaser and runner. A gated yard is important because Cavaliers will surely pursue chipmunks and even butterflies.

Just like other dogs, Cavaliers also need exercises every day. And since they are people oriented, leaving them alone at home is not a good idea. If yes, they will surely chew whine or bark destructively. Or They always want companions either other animals or humans on a daily basis. So, as much as possible, never left them alone, especially for long periods of time.

Fortunately, Cavaliers can get along with other animals and even humans. But like other animals, they tend to have timidity, therefore, puppies need to be socialized at early ages to boost their confidence and outgoing temperament. So, if you really want their traits, then it is right for you.

But if you do not want to deal with lots of shedding, separation anxiety, shyness and timidity and even healthy problems, then this may not right for you. Actually, you can avoid some negative traits of dogs by choosing a good breeder and the right puppy. Once you acquire a puppy from animal shelters, make sure to pick an adult dog who has already proven that he does not have negative features.

It is also important to give him a proper training so he would respect you. One of the biggest problems with spaniels today is health. The three common health problems include valve degeneration which eventually leads to heart failure, skin allergies, ear infections, all of which are eligible for insurance benefits.
