Choosing The Right Elvis Tribute San Francisco

By Carolyn Young

A major part of today's entertainment industry is tribute acts and impersonators. This could be a band or an individual artist such as an Elvis tribute San Francisco. Many singers are available for bookings with varying degrees of talent and authenticity.

Two main types of Elvis tribute act are available in San Francisco, CA and some thought should be given when deciding on booking one. The majority of vocalists will sound like the man himself and have spent many years refining their set. In some cases the artist will also look like the king and these are usually more expensive to hire than just a sound alike.

When deciding on an artist it is worth doing some homework to ensure the act meets the needs of the client. The majority of tributes will be happy to tailor their show to specific needs such as favorite songs and even costumes. The price charged by singers will vary greatly according to how long the show is and what equipment is required to stage the performance.

Starting from around five hundred dollars a tribute act will turn up at the event with backing tracks in full costume to sing a couple of songs. If a full show is required with a live band and backing singers then the cost will be considerably more running into thousands. Many of these performers will also provide their own sound and light systems and crew to set everything up at the venue.

As a rule the best way to book a performer for a gig is to use the services of a well established entertainment company or agent. Most of these professional agents will be in a position to offer a choice of acts to suit the needs of different clients. There are also other benefits of using these companies as they will ensure that all insurances and permissions are in place prior to show time.

Internet companies can also be used to book a singer to perform at an event but there a couple of things to check if using this method. It is always a good idea to contact the artist direct and discuss the show with them and ask for their advice. Due to the fact that the king frequently changed his on stage look and as his career progressed altered his singing style many options are on offer.

When a performer has been decided on it is good practice to take some time to look at past performances and reviews. Agents and internet booking companies will be happy to share this information and this can be very beneficial. It is also a good idea to try and look at some video footage or listen to sound recordings to help with the selection of the act.

If a specific Elvis impersonator act is to be booked it should be done well in advance as many of these performers may be committed for months or even years. If the performer is on the competition scene he may also spend a lot of time travelling the world. Some care should also be taken when hiring a venue and checks should be made on what equipment and permissions are needed to host the show.
