Looking For Tribute Bands For Hire

By Ericka Marsh

When looking for a live band for an event, there are numerous factors to consider such as budget, type of event and the venue. Tribute bands for hire offer a way of providing a specific type of music to suit an event like hiring a Beatles group for a 60th birthday party. These groups exist to honor the music of original artists like the Rolling Stones, the Beatles, Alice Cooper and Neil Diamond. Some of them have performed for many years and their acts are of such a high standard that they even have their own fans.

Some of these groups pay a great deal of attention to their appearance, wearing costumes, appropriate hairstyles and even copying hand gestures and other mannerisms of the original artists. Others focus more on the music more than the outward trappings, capturing its essence. Many times the instruments used are just like the original ones so as to recreate the distinctive sounds.

When looking online for such a band, it is possible to listen to demo tracks. One can soon tell if they capture the essence of sound and feel of the original group. One must bear in mind that these demos are recorded in studio and the live sound may be a little different. It is also possible to see images and even view videos of live performances, showing exactly what they look like and how they move.

The venue in which an event is to be held affects the choice of band. A large live band with a full orchestra is perfect for a big arena. Any big band is better suited to a large space with a stage. A band can often adapt to suit a particular venue, cutting down to basics for a smaller, more intimate venue and adding more members and instruments when the venue is big enough.

There are no standard prices as they are influenced by the size of the band, their experience, length of performance and many other factors. The more experienced bands are able to charge much more than those who are still building their reputations. A band may be able to adjust what is offered to suit a specific budget.

Some of the groups use professionally recorded backing tracks. This helps them to create a full sound and still be affordable. It also means they are more adaptable to smaller venues.

Once you have found the band you want, you need to check whether it is available. A quote will be sent to you including all costs such as travel and extras. If it suits your budget, all you need to do is sign a contract and pay a deposit.

When you make your booking, you need to allow for time for the band to set up at the venue and to do a sound check. They will need somewhere private and secure where they can change, leave their instrument cases and prepare for their show. Many of them perform for about an hour but time they play can also be specified.
