By Tammie Caldwell

There are numerous music genres that people love to listen to. It is identified by its rhythmic sound made by beats from the drum and its lyrics are rhymed. It can be done through chanting, which is what rap is basically all about. Since the foundation of this culture, there are also subcultures that root from this.

The instruments used are turntables and percussion. Later on, beatboxing was discovered, which is done entirely from the mouth of a person. This alone can accompany the chanting or rapping of a rapper or even a song. The latest beats these days are taken from synthesizers. One example is dubstep. Local hip hop Fort Lauderdale, FL is one of the places any urban music lover can go to.

Contrary to the first impression that the genre is generally about rapping, it is actually very flexible. It can mix with different genres as well. In addition, it is not merely about making music, it is also about getting into the music and getting influenced by it. DJs and turntable scratchers do not necessarily compose music. They simply enhance them.

This rich culture was first discovered by the African Americans. As you can see, they are the ones dominating in the scene. Until they were joined by some white hip hop enthusiasts like Eminem who became the biggest White rapper in America.

They are the ones who first coined the term and incorporated other styles with it. It is perfect when combined with Rhythm and Blues. For instance, the song is comprised with chanted verses and Rhythm and Blues chorus. The result is very appealing to the youth since the topics being written in songs are mainly about love, being broken hearted, and being bitter about love.

He also dressed up like one of them. There are so many breakthrough artists that have emerged as Grammy Award winners because of their piece. Aside from the known fact that this genre can be mixed with Rhythm and Blues, it can also be mixed with pop and even rock.

Lil Wayne, Kanye, West and Eminem are the bad boys of rap. They talk about anything like drugs, alcoholism, and perverted topics. They also curse without limits. Their songs are filtered with cursing when they are airplayed but they have explicit albums that anyone can buy or download directly. There is no way of knowing if the people purchasing or downloading are already at the right age.

But this is a good form of expressionism. This is one of the most artistic ways to exercise freedom of speech. Many have been sued because of anti government lyrics but they always get away because of the freedom of speech clause.

Despite this fact, they are still being supported by the music industry. They are sometimes sued because of their offensive lyrics but musicians are usually protected by the freedom of speech clause. There are others that think they are the bravest and boldest people they know so they idolize them.
