Finding Great Classic TV Westerns Online

By Christa Jarvis

Older people were very lucky to have watched great television shows that came on decades ago. It is quite sad that many young people now have to view classic tv westerns online since some of the shows do not run on television. Fortunately these young people will get to see some of the best actors in history while viewing these programs.

"Gunsmoke" has always been a fan favorite around the entire United States since it lasted for more than a decade. Miss Kitty and Marshall Dillon became a fixture on the CBS television station many years ago. The Marshall was always challenging a new bad guy who came into town to cause chaos for everyone. Luckily he was a tall strong male who could not be beaten up by anyone. Nowadays many teenagers can turn on their computer to watch this original show.

"The Big Valley" was a big hit during the mid 60's and every woman could identify with the strong willed Victoria Barkley. She was raising four children on her own since her husband had died. Each week Victoria, Heath or Audra would get into some type of trouble with a ruthless outlaw. By the end of the show the dastardly villain was either dead or had become a decent person.

During the 60's Robert Fuller had a leading role within the series "Wagon Train." This handsome actor also played a major role in the show "Emergency" when it debuted during the 70's. While he was on "Wagon Train" Mr. Fuller played a cowboy who was always rescuing women who were in some type of trouble. Young women in America are still viewing him when they go to certain nostalgic websites.

Whenever people hear the name Chuck Connors they immediately think about the series titled "The Rifleman." Mr. Connors received this role on his first audition because he knew exactly how to handle a rifle. This series can be found on many of the websites which feature old television shows.

"The Lone Ranger" was a very unique series since it featured a Caucasian male with a Native American. At the time that this series aired many of the other shows had whites and Native Americans fighting. The two characters were best friends and they would work together in order to stop outlaws from taking over different towns. With a simple click of a button everyone can view this show over the internet at anytime.

"The Lone Ranger" and "Daniel Boone" were identical since both programs featured a mixed friendship. The legendary Boone was based upon a real life person but some of the episodes were pure fiction. His Native American partner was a good fighter and he would never let people take advantage of Daniel or his family.

All of these series were unique and they were well ahead of their time. The late great Roy Rogers and his wife Dale also did a number of short series which can now be seen over the internet.
