Someone who has played for at least five years should be better placed to offer more skills to students as compared to an advanced learner. Ask the instructor how much time he or she dedicates to the lessons. You need to get assurance that you will benefit from the classes. If the teacher engages in training as a full-time activity, then you can be certain that they have taken it as a profession. If it is part time, the adequate time should be allotted.

Consider the character of the teacher. You may have a great trainer, but if you do not get along, you will hardly learn anything. Ensure that you have a great mutual understanding so that you can be free to ask questions when need be without feeling inferior.

Check out the training facility. If the classes are conducted in a studio, then it should be comfortable, well aerated and well lit. However, this can also be an extra room or even the basement.
