Find Refuge Through Poems Of Comfort

By Tiffany Gill

Seeking refuge in the palliating arms of someone you love is not easy to do. Many people seek privacy during periods of grief in order to express themselves privately in the safety and security of home. Often they feel that others do not understand the weightiness of their anguish. By turning to poems of comfort, they have the ability to express their grief, by reading the written words of others who have experienced similar loss.

Feeling the heart felt words, expressed by someone else who has experienced similar pain and suffering somehow seems to make things more bearable. They seem to be able to put into words, the depth of the agony that you have endured. It is almost as if they are taking pen to task with your emotion.

Regardless of the reasons for your disquietude, you will find these compositions capable of beginning the progression toward inner healing. By focusing on the cause of your grief, you may begin to slowly start the healing process. These lines grant you the strength to move past your pain and toward your restoration.

Feeling your loss, while burdensome, is part of the course of action that is required to move forward. By assisting you to work through your loss, hurt, anger and pain, you begin to release the anguish and start the process of healing. Many of these quatrains facilitate working through the negative emotions to bring you to reclamation.

A sonnet of bargains is one full of emotional pleas for the circumstances to change. If only you could go back and make things different, knowing full well that the bargaining will not change the course of your grief. For that brief moment, it makes it seem almost possible that if you make the right promises, you could change the past and make your pain vanish.

When grieving, people often feel that they are alone, even when surrounded by people who care. Compositions based on depressive writings allow you the ability to feel the overwhelming drumbeats of despair. This assists those who have been swallowed by depression, to begin to see the hope and possibility that surrounds them, thus giving them the acquired power to rise up from the depths of depression to move forward with life.

Finding acceptance through the written word will put you in a more receptive state. Finding assuagement in these compositions, you realize that even though you have endured tremendous difficulty, you will find a way to move forward with life. You may still experience additional feelings of loss, but you will also be encouraged by the realization that you have not walked this path alone, you now have a partner to share your grief.

By understanding the written words of others, who have walked the same broken-hearted path, you will begin to find healing. Allow yourself to bathe in the warmth of the word that was written to aid you in the healing process. Find consolation in the midst of loss through reading poems of comfort.
