A Quick Overview Of The Guitar Line Up And Specs From Schertler

By Madeline Pittman

Speak the name Schertler and most any musician will lift up, from the professional doing gigs every week to the high school student sitting inside their room air-guitaring. This company was begun with an intense desire for professional collaboration between musical giants Stephan Schertler and the famed guitar designer slash builder Claudio Pagelli. The idea was to craft and market smaller lighter electric acoustic guitars.

They have a standard equipped hardware and high quality pickups, with some limited upgrades being available when purchased. The guitar bodies were planned to be made from the finest available spruces and hardwoods for sound quality and tone. The shapes were to be uniquely futuristic when viewed. While they have been engaged in business they have surpassed many of these prospects to craft a group of special instruments that every musician can be proud to own.

They have four distinct but similarly constructed guitars to make a unique instrument. Most guitars can be crafted to order by picking or choosing different options such as finishes and the hardware. The four models listed are the CP, SB, SM and the SP.

The CP model uses nylon string and is as works just well around a small campfire as on a huge stage for thousands of fans. The solid top is made using Swiss spruce for warmth and tone. The side and back use Indian rosewood giving it added warmth and depth for the sound. The two pickups are the electronic type with typical side mount controls.

The model SB is a steel string. It also has the alpine Swiss spruce top supplying better tone and depth. Both the backs and side are fashioned from a newer hard-wood called Bubinga. This hard-wood enhances the tone and sustain making them sharper. The veritable electronic controls are located on-board and do a fine job mixing the sound.

The SM is also a steel string model. It has the Swiss alpine spruce top to help enhance the sound quality and depth. The back and sides are crafted from finely cut mahogany. This gives the guitar a much richer and fuller sound than many of its counterparts. It also sports the same electronics and pickups the other models share.

The model SP is another steel string for their guitar line up. It too sports the common Swiss spruce top for a greater sound quality. Both back and its sides are the old growth Indian rosewood. This is perfect for folk, flamenco or classical music. The on board electronic controls offer a broad range of settings and are placed for maximum usability.

One of the greatest selling points is an almost limitless combinations that are possible using the on board pre-amp and mixer. It will never replace an expensive foot board, it does try hard to. Every control performs nicely doing what it is expected do.

Lately more mainstream guitarists are embracing the sound qualities of acoustic guitars when plugged in or unplugged. From the way things look Schertler guitars are in front of the curve. With its solidly designed body and unique style it is unbeatable.
