The Evolution Of The Jukebox Los Angeles

By Nita McKinney

Some of the people of the older generation would probably remember going to diners and paying a nickel in order to listen to music from a jukebox los angeles. Actually, this small machine revolutionized the music industry because it encouraged the young people to listen to popular music even if they do not have a radio. This is one of the most recognized innovations that came from that era.

One of the biggest influences of this revolutionary music machine would actually be the famous inventor Thomas Edison, . Because he invented the phonograph, many other inventors actually wanted to create something more from this. It was after the invention of the phonograph that innovations started coming out.

Now in the twenties, salons and other types of stores like diners wanted to entertain their clients by letting them play music that they want. That is why they put a phonograph in the corner where in customers must pay a certain fee for the usage. So with this concept, the pioneering inventor was able to come up with the complete product called the jukebox.

With this type of innovation, another inventor by the name of Louis Glass was able to come up with a machine that was actually based on the phonograph and the coin slot concept. He was in fact the one who created the very first jukebox. It was adapted in a lot of diners and served as an extra source of income for owners.

After the first music box came out, the twenties saw the creation of other things like this because of mass production. In fact, many manufacturers decided to upgrade this machine by adding some amplifiers. With these amplifiers, the music could be made so loud that the sound could compete with that of a real band.

The Great Depression was actually the time in which the jukebox gained so much popularity. Since the diners and dance halls were not able to afford to hire the live bands like they used to, then they decided to settle for jukeboxes which were equally as effective. The best part is that they were able to do business and not scrimp on the quality of their service.

Now one thing that a lot of people probably do not know is that this little device is the reason why a lot of artists became famous. The thing about the jukebox is that an unrecognized artist could actually put a disk of his songs inside the machine and let the public hear it. If a DJ would hear it and likes it, he may actually use his influence to put it on the radio.

With the growth of the jukebox los angeles, many young artists were able to get their music out. Since the Great Depression was a time where people were not in high spirits, entertainment became a must. Of course if the machine was not created in the first place, so many artists today would not appear because they would not have any influences.
