By Delroy Wilkins

As a hip hop producer, it takes countless hours to complete a creating a track. With time, you get to learn the different techniques used in the creation of hits. Layering and appropriate beats are used to provide groove within the track. The basic sounds can make a beat sound good, but not great. Auxiliary sounds on the other hand can be used alongside the basic sound to create the perfect track. Simple sounds might appeal to some people. However, majority of listeners want complex and deep sounds. Auxiliary sounds are the best way to achieve this quality in your tracks.

Auxiliary sounds are often found in the background of the track. They aren't actually what people listen to when they hear a beat. These sounds work to add some depth to the music making it more pleasant to listen to. For easy use of auxiliary sounds, it's best to break them down first in the following ways.

Accents. These sounds add some form emphasis on specific parts within the beat. Take the sound of a crash cymbal coming at the end of a beat. It will definitely stand out. In addition, it also helps the beat that came before it stand out even more. This technique works best when you want specific parts within the track to stand out. Two commonly used accent sounds include bass and piano sounds incorporated within beats.

There are also sounds that transition between the different parts. If you transition from the verse to the chorus, you can use the auxiliary sounds to mark this part of the song. A drum is a common type of sound that is used, but you can also get the effect that you want from the keyboards or the bass.

Fun sounds. Adding specific sounds within the beat can make it more fun. The auxiliary sounds used to bring out this effect are usually specialized sounds. These specialized sounds can be samples from other songs or even, sounds listeners come across daily. A sigh can be a great example sound that falls under the category of fun addition.

If you are trying to create the perfect hip hop sound, learning about and using auxiliary sounds is important. Without auxiliary sounds you won't be able to create that track that has that special sound that everyone wants to listen to. Pro music producers understand the importance of using auxiliary sounds and that's why they end up creating great hits.
