How To Work Hard As A Bartender

By Michael Obrien

The main objective of a Florida bartender is to provide the customers with the best mix of alcohol. To those who are working in this industry, it is important for them to know how to provide good serve. They should have good attitude and keep hospitality in mind. If possible, they should keep a smile on their face prepared for when their customers come inside the bar.

Cleanliness is vital for this kind of job too. There is no way that the customers will not feel repulsed when the bar counter top is smeared with spilled drinks. It is already a given for the professional to make sure that the counter top is sparkling clean. Prepare clean bar towels to wipe of spilled drinks and moisture off the counter top.

Do not hesitate to make a suggestion as to what drinks the customer should enjoy when needed. Most of the times, the customers will rely on the bartenders to give them a suitable drink. After all, they are the professionals when it comes to this matter. The advice the professional gives will surely be valued.

It will help for the said professional to have a good memory. There are a lot of things that one will have to remember, after all. This is especially the case if the bar is quite busy. Not only will the professional has to remember the name of the drinks, it is also important to remember what drinks a regular client has ordered.

Anticipating the things that will go on during the entire night is a must for the said professional. This means that the person will have to consider whether there will be a significant increase in the demand for lemon and limes on a certain day and such. This is one of the jobs of the professional, after all.

It is a must for the person to be fair. There is no room for preferential treatment, even if it is human nature. The professional will have to drop such habits. This is because it is imperative for the professional to show the same amount of attention and care those those who are visiting the bar, regardless of whether they are newcomers or longtime friends.

Trust is absolute. This is a mantra that all bartenders will have to bear in mind. They should make sure not to overcharge their clients. Do not underpour as well. More than that, the things that were talked about at the bar do not go out of the bar. Once trust is broken, this will cause bad reputation to arise.

While it might be natural for most people to leave some tips for the bartenders, remember that this form of gratuity is voluntary. The customers are not obliged to give even a single cent to the bartenders as tip. The tip is the form of thanks that customers give to the bartenders when they are satisfied with the latter's service.

Do not forget that the bar is an establishment that serves alcoholic beverages. That is why the Florida bartender should ask for a person's identification if it seems as if that person is below the legal drinking age. Do not serve even a glass of alcoholic beverages to these customers since this is the same as breaking the law.
