By Lana Bray

The practice of martial arts is a sport that has spread far and wide. Nearly all oriental countries in Asia had their own special game with peculiar techniques. Each sport has its own rules and regulations. The Brazilian jiu jitsu Atlanta is far much stricter than other martial arts. One of the fundamental point in understanding this game is to understand the ranking system.

At the lowest level of this sport is the white belt. This is composed on first timers and individuals with no prior skill in fighting sports. At this point, individuals are taught the most basic skills. They are taught some positions that are expected in the game. The history and philosophy of this art must be inculcated into learners at this point. Depending on the effort and hours of practice placed by an individual, this stage could take nearly six months.

The blue harness is the immediate upper level from the class of beginners. In this stage, one is expected to focus on learning their weaknesses and strengths. This requires hard work and supervision from trainers. One should try to find a style of fighting that goes well with their body. For instance, some fighters are good at punching while others can kick well. Mastery of the fundamental fighting positions should be acquired at this level.

The next step is to find an effective strategy or style that one can readily fall back on. This is what distinguishes the purple belt from other learners. At this stage, one must show effective coordination of body parts and foresight. Competitions and challenges are regularly used as a way to hone the skills of fighters in this level. This serves to open one up to new fighters with new techniques and challenges.

The fighters of the brown belt are highly qualified fighting machines. They know how to use the assets of an opponent to destroy them. This level of skill can only be achieved by the most persistent warriors. It takes a lot of time and practice. Moreover, it requires a lot of mental growth and the power to identify and seize opportunities.

The black girdle is an elite level of this sport. It can take an ordinary person who trains fervently up to eight years to attain this rank. These individuals are in complete control of their body movements. They have the knowledge and skill to manipulate their opponents into positions that favor them. Such individuals have perfected their game by participating in hundreds of competitions. Their mastery of the game extends to performance of the fight.

Individuals who do not believe in limits can only be encouraged with the red belt. This is a stage that is seldom achieved by fighters. In many cases, the best warriors are satisfied at the black girdle. One needs to cover many degrees to attain this level of skill.

Individuals who learn Brazilian jiu jitsu Atlanta are required to be humble. This is one of the founding blocks of this sport. Rather than fight and harass innocent individuals, the warriors should strive to maintain peace.
