A Closer Look At Grow Jamaica Movie

By Lana Bray

In the recent world Jamaica has come to the limelight as country which is so passionate to reggae music, common use of hemp and also sports like athletics. The government has fought a lot to do away with the usage of hemp and discourage its growing by declaring it illegal however some individuals do use it remotely though illegally. Some have been campaigning so hard to make it legalized by the state via grow Jamaica movie.

Grow Jamaica movie is a famous documentary which tries to ask the government to legalize use of drugs. The drug in question is marijuana. This drug comes from dried leaves of hemp tree, a type of cannabis plant. It is strong smelling and commonly referred to by locals as ganja. The drug was banned due to the effects it would bring to the people of the country.

The film has gone deeper to ask people what they feel about the situation that the plant is illegal. The starring cast argues how the plant is of value to the countrymen and above all God gave them the plant so that it could improve their lives. And if their creator did that why should the government try to stop them from exploiting the plant which does best in their soils.

It is based on marijuana debate whereby different people in the cast have given their opinion on the same. The cast involve people from different field s for example lawyers, doctors and economists. Also involved in this heated debate in the documentary are the politicians most of whom are in the government. All of these people about from the common person give different views since they work in different fields and the use of the plant.

Politicians always side with the government but some of them are frank to say that it should be encouraged in the country for its economic purpose and also would allow their usage. The common person argues in one voice that banishing use of marijuana is like denying them a living. They believe that marijuana works best to the body if used and stimulates the brain.

Unemployed youth believe that if it was legalized, they could improve the economy. Dr. Campbell in his views also believes encouraging growing of the plant would help them economically since marijuana can be used to make many products which people do not know.

The starring cast has also given their views on the issue. They consider marijuana so important in the society. This is due to the fact that people tend to question the creator by wondering if plant was made for other uses and why the people in authority might try to hinder people from exploiting it despite the fact that it has wide range of uses.

Grow Jamaica movie has not brought any impact yet since the drug is still not legalized. The heated debate continues also between the government and the people do not seem to get to understand one another. The case is a sensitive one and people may never seem to settle to its illegality.Depending on the way they are used, they can be beneficial or harmful to the society.
