Questions To Ask A Toronto DJ Ahead Of Hiring

By Robert Hawkins

The big day has arrived for the bride and the groom. It's time to begin all the necessary preparations. Not all misfortunes can be avoided but one that should come off smoothly is booking the right Toronto DJ.

The majority of weddings come in at least two parts, if not more. The most important and sacred part is the wedding ceremony itself, held inside a church in most cases. After the wedding, everyone will expect dinner and dancing to be provided, and this is usually done at a completely different location than the wedding itself.

It's at the wedding reception that a nervous bride finds out whether or not she has made the right choice for her entertainment. There are a few important questions she should ask the DJs she interviews before choosing which one should be hired. The way that each answers should make her decision easier.

It's very important that the DJ come with references. The bride must call the other people who have worked with this particular DJ and find out what kinds of experiences they have had. It's good to know that the person she's going to hire has had lots of successes and that people are willing to give good reviews of their services.

Having their own equipment is one thing but it's also important that any music services provided by someone also come with a backup set of equipment. The wedding itself is a once in a lifetime event. It's important to know that if anything goes wrong, the mistakes can be fixed and any broken equipment can be traded out and repaired if it's at all necessary.

The wedding reception is the party that comes after the wedding, much later in the evening. It includes music at mealtime while everyone's having dinner, so it's important that the music services be set up before any guests arrive. Everything needs to be in place before people sit down to eat. The music for dinner should be light-hearted and casual, maybe even romantic. The music that will be played later will be more for the partying crowd and upbeat, getting everyone moving.

A good and understanding Toronto DJ will respect the bride's questions and answer them honestly. They'll be ready to provide references and demonstrate prior experience. The wedding itself is a special event in a bride's life but everyone will also remember the reception, and the DJ is a huge part of making sure it's a memory they want forever.
