Dancing Queen composed by ABBA and the Swedish Music Scene

By Martin Reynolds

If there's one particular track that will explain Sweden it must be Dancing Queen - ABBA. ABBA like a well-known travel host and chef would describe is one kind of Sweden's most widely used export. With all due regard to the music group and its participants, Agnetha Faltskog, Benny Andersson, I will have to understand that assertion not really considering that the band has become so commercial but simply because the band has described the country as well as its way of life. They have built Sweden well-known around the globe because of ABBA's songs.

The group is one of he best selling groups in the 1970's and it has changed an era with their music and songs. Their own dance inducing music along with electronic rich beat provides inspired most of the performers today as well as their tracks has impressed a musical which had been also released as a full feature motion picture.

Just before ABBA, Benny Anderson has been a part of the Hep Stars which in turn at that time was dubbed as Sweden's Beatles. They cover a lot of well-liked pop and rock and roll tracks at that time. At the age of 18 he's definitely writing songs and also launching huge success songs for his group. The group first met in Sweden when the 2 partners went to Cyprus. What started off as an impromptu jam at the sea became a full performance for the United Nations troops stationed from the area. This approach has been the start of an extremely unforgettable profession to the four vocalists. On November 1, 1970 Festfolk was developed which was the predecessor for ABBA. The work they do together had been on an album named Lycka, which had been initially just participation among Anderson, and Ulvaeus but Lyngstad and Faltskog added the back-up lines on most tunes. Their particular first record together was a music about a salvation army soldier called 'Hej, gamle man' The quartet continued working and visiting together and has slowly being extremely famous as a group.

In 1972, the group finally broke through as a quartet. They released their first hit, People Need Love and the women in the group enjoyed equal prominence with the men playing guitars and vocals. The song reached number 17 in the Swedish chart, which is enough to convince the group to continue playing as one. It was also the first single that was released by the group to reach the US charts. However, despite of that success, the group does not have an official name yet.

In 1973, the group was officially known as ABBA. The group finally got their best year in 1976 when they released the album greatest hits, this despite of the fact they only have six official UK and US hits. The album however peaked in many International charts and gave ABBA its best years. It included a new single Fernando, which gave ABBA some new followers. However, Dancing Queen - ABBA remained the bands only US number one hit in the US. Despite of that, ABBA's popularity cannot be doubted, as their songs are still a favorite among many people today.
