X Factor Jahmene Still Grieves For Dead Brother

By Johnson Brierley

He's received plaudits and praise a plenty for his soulful voice and graceful style, but it has been revealed that Jahmene Douglas - many people's favourite to win this year's competition - is still in mourning for his older brother Daniel who died in tragic circumstance, aged just 23, nearly three years ago.

It has also been revealed by a source close to the family that Jahmene had struggled immensely right the way through the competition without having his big brother there to support him: "It's still very sensitive for him" Heat magazine was told. "All he wants to do is focus on the music and the competition right now".

His father, Eustace Douglas, is currently serving a 15 year sentence for the GBH and rape of his Jahmene's mother Mandy Thomas back in 2003 at their family home in Bath, when he was just 11 years old.

Jahmene's parents had been together for nearly eighteen years before the vicious attack. A family friend informed us that: "His dad was a nasty piece of work - he terrorised the family. It's really no surprise that he has confidence issues".

But despite all that has happened, Jahmene shares an incredibly strong bond with his mother, his sister and his two brothers, and he informed the sun that he hopes he can become an inspiration to anyone who may be suffering.

Jahmene is a devout Christian who has found strength in his Christian faith to help get him through the difficult times. Heat magazine was told that: "His faith is incredibly important to him. Losing his brother was a huge reason for why he turned to religion.

Jahmene has certainly come a long way since he was crowned 'Swindon's Got Talent' winner back in 2010, an accolade which saw him lend his vocals to a charity song by Reach Inclsive Arts, designed to help involve more disabled people in creative and cultural activities.

It may seem like a while since Jahmene burst onto our screens and into our hearts as a shy supermarket worker, but the nation has got behind him like never before and hopes are high of him winning this years competition. And should he be victorious, what a fairytale ending it would be - and how deserved - that someone who has been through so much could still be able to achieve something as incredible as winning such a prestige talent competition.
