By Jane Smith

Wedding day can be very chaotic for everyone involved in the wedding. This is why as a wedding photographer it is so important to be organized, by having a plan and schedule ahead of time. This will help you to stay organized so that you can make the most of your time and capture the most pictures with the limited amount of time you have. Staying organized and on task will also help to keep the bride and groom happy.

Before you head to the location of the wedding or photo shoot, make sure that you eat something. You actually may be so busy later that you might not have time to eat. Pack all of your gear, and double check to make sure that you have everything, batteries, memory discs, extra batteries etc.

Before the wedding even takes place, it is likely that the bride and groom will want photos taken of the wedding party, as well as the wedding party getting ready. This is also a great time to get any detailed shots of significant items such as the rings, shoes, or bouquets. A lot of times these detailed photos can be some of the most interesting and memorable shots. Here are some common shots that you might wish to include, bride getting her hair and makeup done, photo of the dress hanging nicely, photo of the dress being zipped up, photo of shoes being put on, photo of the veil being secured, etc. Brides like to remember every little detail so it will be great if you can capture a lot of details. Before the ceremony you can also take shots of the venue, decorations as well as the guests arriving.

When the ceremony begins or is about to begin be sure to photograph the parents and grand parents, the Groom and Groomsmen arriving, the bridesmaids with groomsmen. Also be sure to photograph the Bridesmaids individually if not paired up with the groomsmen, the Maid of honor, the flower girls, the ring bearer, and the Bride with her Father walking down the aisle. Make sure to continue to take pictures of the ceremony - the Father handing the Bride to Groom, as well as the vow exchange and ring exchanges. When the ceremony is over, be sure to capture the whole bridal party as they make their way out, and especially the newly married couple.

When the ceremony has ended keep the camera rolling as now is the perfect time to capture the emotions of the bride, groom, the wedding party along with everyone who helped them to celebrate. Get ready to capture more photos as the reception begins.

As a wedding photographer you should always have a plan going into any wedding photo shoot as it will keep you on task and ensure that you get the most shots in the limited amount of time you have. This article will serve as a great guideline for the before the ceremony and ceremony shots that you will like to take for your clients.
