Taking A Step Into The Modern Age With Digital Cameras

By Aron Teti

In the year 2001, digital cameras charged into the market as the latest invention in photography equipment. Consumers gladly accepted and loved this new invention which allowed all people to enter the field of basic photography. Picture taking has become extremely easy when this revolutionary device came out.

The ancestor of this type of camera is none other than the film cameras which required a lot of very tiring work just to print out some photographs. During those times, one would have to still go to a photography studio to get their pictures printed. Of course, this process took around a week to do because the photographer still needed to delicately handle the negatives. The negatives must be stored in a dark room before becoming photos otherwise they would get spoiled.

With a digital camera, picture taking is very simple. One just needs to take a picture which would automatically be stored inside the memory of the camera or inside a memory card. That makes it better for photographers because instead of having to deal with the negatives which could get spoiled or lost in an instant, they would have a soft copy of the picture that they could refer back to anytime that they want.

Now with regard to deleting, one may delete any picture that he does not like anytime he wants. All he has to do is select a picture and press the erase button. Unlike an old camera where all shots have to be good so that none of the film gets wasted, digital camera users do not need to worry about memory getting wasted. If the user took a bad shot, he can always just take another one.

One may also want to edit his picture by making it bigger, cropping some parts, or changing the brightness and contrast level. He may now do this by putting the pictures inside his camera into his computer. Then he can use computer programs to alter his photos.

When the files are stored in the computer or desktop, the photographer may have the option to print it out so he can keep the photo in his album. All he needs is a working printer and some photo paper. He just has to select the picture that he would want to print out and click the print option. The picture will then come out in the photo paper and will look exactly like the photos that one would get from a regular camera.

Another great function that the digital camera has is that it can even take videos. So basically, this device has a dual function of a camera and a video recorder. This is something that the old cameras did not have at all.

Digital cameras are one of the best inventions that sprung out in this very decade. It is extremely simple to use and makes the art of photography accessible to anyone who wants to learn. With this great invention, one does not need to know the complicated and delicate process of handling a roll of film anymore.
