How To Easily Transfer Information From An SD Card To DVD

By Doris Rivas

Secure Digital cards or SD cards are a very convenient way as well as portable way in which to store information on a phone, camera or video camera. As convenient as they are, they also can be easily lost, so it is important that you know how you can transfer this information from your SD card to DVD.

So, despite their convenience, these small storage devices are small enough to get lost or you could accidentally erase files before you get them stored more permanently. So if you want to transfer them to your computer or burn them, you will need to know how to do so, if you do not know already.

If you have never done this before or simply are not all that tech savvy, you might feel a little intimidated with the idea of transferring the information, because you might be a bit scared that you might do something wrong and erase all the information and then everything will be gone. You do not need to think this way. The process of transferring your information is a relatively simple and easy process and anyone can do it without a problem.

The first thing you are going to want to do is to take a DVD and put it in your computer in the slot that it needs to go in. Then next is to take the SD card and put it in the SD slot that you will find on your computer as well. If you don't have this kind of a slot in your computer you can use an external reader and attach that to your computer. However, most newer computers will have their own built in readers for you to use.

After you have finished doing this you will want to go to your computer and click on the Start button that is found at the left corner on the bottom of your computer screen and then click on the word Computer from your computers start up menu.

Once you have done this you will now need to make sure that you double click on the icon for SD cards. This will be found in the Devices With Removable Storage in order to see the files that are stored on your portable device.

After that, look at all the files and decide which ones to transfer. Hold down your Control key and take your mouse and click all the files that you are going to transfer. After you have highlighted them all then use your mouse to right click on any file that is highlighted and then a menu will come up and just click on the word Copy from the list.

After this has been done you will want to click on the Back button on your computer to return to the menu that has the word Computer on the list and then find the icon for the DVD drive and right click so you can pick from that menu the word Paste. Just wait for the computer to do the rest of the work of transferring your files. Once done you will need to click on Burn and your files will will be burned from SD card to DVD, and that is it.
