Becoming a composer NYC is not really a talent as many people believe but it is a skill that is acquired and created. In order to become a songwriter, you do need some knowledge of what music theory is. You also must have a desire to compose music as well as practice your craft. Music can be composed on a piano, keyboard, computer or other instrument.

There are a few ways to become a serialist and it is important to note that one person may learn one way but someone else will learn another way. Mozart, for instance, developed his musical talent while still in preschool but on the other end of the spectrum, Danny Elfman played in a rock band for several years before becoming a melodish. Some songsmiths may not require any formal education since they can compose naturally. Several might not ever have even read a sheet of music before. All it took for them was a admiration for music and a gift to compose it.

Some songsmiths may have obtained some kind of formal education or training. Some might have performed in a band or an orchestra and learned by a professional conductor on the gift of music composing. Some may have engaged in private lesson in childhood or adulthood. And still others may have attended music composition classes in high school or college.

Composing music is a complicated process so understanding how musical instruments work is important. A good melodist will know how to write music for accompanying musical instruments. So they know exactly how the various instruments sound such as the guitar and the bass.
