Many people are interested in Chincoteague ponies which are phenotypically horses. What makes them different is that they have small stature. They can be in pinto colors or solid colors. These specie also has many different breeds. Physical characteristics would depend on their bloodline.

These animals can be domesticated by individuals who collect breeds. There are also those which are bred in parks where they can roam around freely. In this kind of setting, they can adapt to the environment well. They eat grass and drink water from ponds.

Though they may appear tame, these horses are actually wild. Visitors at parks are now allowed to feed or pet them. For private breeders, they are required to register their breeds. This is part of measures which are taken to preserve the specie.

Truly, these creatures are great products of nature which need to be cared for. They have qualities that make them unique and special and with that, some people like to capture them in any way. Some people consider them a subject for photography.

Some enthusiasts also like to visit parks and witness events which gives them a chance to take photos. For these individuals, this is an opportunity for them to capture the subjects and get what they want. There people who also like to collect and display the portraits.

A very popular form of entertainment that involves these breeds is pony penning. This event is held annually where the horses are made to swim across the Assateague Channel during low tide. Riders accompany the horses when swimming across the channel. Thousands of people come to witness this event every year.

After the event, chincoteague ponies are auctioned as a source of revenue to the place. Each one is evaluated to determine which ones can be sold. Majority of the herd though will be returned. Many people participate in this annual event which has already become a tradition.
