By James Albert

Freddie Mercury is one of many best stars in the music industry. He captured the love of the people around the globe together with his music and compositions. His real name is "Farrokh Bulsara" and he was born on September 5, 1946 in the tiny spice tropical island of Zanzibar. His parents were Persian, Bomi and Jer Bulsara. He was raised in an average household and at the age of eight, Freddie was send out to St. Peter's British boarding school located in Panchgani.

At St Peter's he spend his elementary and secondary education and it was an English school. His friends started to call him Freddie and he showed good sportsmanship by joining several sports activities and winning several games. Besides sports activities he also has an extraordinary talent in art and music. Freddie also took piano lesson and became a member of school choir. Along with school buddies, they formed the school's rock'n roll band and named it 'Hectics.' They do performances in school parties and during special occasions. He spent his university in Isleworth Polytechnic and Ealing College of Art and took up graphic illustrating course.

He met the band of his good friend Tim called Smile that made him motivated once again in playing piano. He began practicing with his own buddies who definitely are extremely amazed on his unique means of playing piano. Right after graduation having a degree in graphic arts and design he started selling his artwork for profits.

At the age of 23, he was unveiled in the music group referred to as Ibex and given the opportunity to become among its members but eventually the music group was broken so Freddie searched for another rock band. He found Sour Milk Sea and grew to become its lead singer but just soon after few months the band had exactly the same fate. Freddie had the chance to become a member of the band of Smile as a lead singer and change the name of the band to 'Queen'.

Freddie composed Bohemian Rhapsody, a very famous song and known all around the globe. It was performed by his band Queen and released its 1975 album "A Night at the Opera." This track is so unique, having no chorus however with three main parts; the ballad, the guitar solo, and the hard rock. Bohemian Rhapsody became the most expensive single ever produced and one of probably the most popular in the music history. It's probably the most effective songs of Queen. He also wrote several songs named the Seven Seas of Rhye, We Are the Champions, Killer Queen, Somebody to Love, Play the Game, Bicycle Race, Don't Stop Me Now, Crazy Little Things Called Love and Good Old-Fashioned Lover Boy. Freddie also altered his impression by cutting his hair and grew a moustache.

He also had solo albums and singles apart from his work with Queen. His two full albums outside the rock band were Mr. Bad Guy in 1985 and Barcelona in 1988. Mr. Bad Guy is a pop-oriented album good for disco and dance tunes while Barcelona had been recorded and performed with Montserrat Caballe. Both of those records received mind-boggling results.
Freddie met Mary Austin early in 1970 with whom he loved for seven years but separated and remained as close friends. He left the majority of his money to Mary Austin after he passed away because he considered her as his only true close friend. He even produced several songs devoted to her and one of this is "Love of My life"

During their July 13, 1985 performance at Live Aid in Wembley Stadium with about 72,000 people, Queen secured their place in the music history. In spite of all the results, Freddie Mercury confronted several issues especially in sex-related orientation as a bisexual. He previously had also numerous relationships with guys and bisexual and one of them is Jim Hutton. He spent the final six years of his life with this man.
He grew to become terribly ill with AIDS but he didn't want people to find out about this so he continued producing songs and making video clips. He passed away November 24, 1991 with bronchial pneumonia as one of the complication of Aids.

A live performance was held in Wembley Stadium on April 20, 1992 as a tribute to the memory of Freddie Mercury. An album entitled "Made in Heaven" was also release on November 6, 1995 by the 3 remaining members of Queen as a biggest tribute to their very own close friend.
