Choose a photo book for a gift with a difference

By Raul Yates

It is not always easy to choose a gift that will really delight the person receiving it: practical gifts can be uninspiring while flowers and chocolate can seem to be unoriginal. A personalised photo book can offer the perfect solution as a truly individual present that can be enjoyed and treasured for years to come.

Make sure you choose photo book format of photo book that is best for the person receiving it. The smaller A5 photo books can be carried around or will make great addition to someone's bookshelves, while the large photo books make fantastic coffee table books that can be kept proudly on display. Consider these aspects when choosing your format.

You can also choose the number of pages to be included in your photo book. It may be tempting to include as many photos as possible, but do not forget that you should only use only the best photos if you want to create a really beautiful present.

Choosing a specific theme may help in the creation of your photo book, particularly if you want it to mark a special occasion. You could, for example, put together a collection of photos to commemorate an exceptional event such as a graduation, or as a souvenir of a special holiday or celebration.

Carefully consider all the photos that could possibly be included in the book before making your selection. Choose only those images that are well-exposed, well-composed and sharp; if you want your photo book to be treasured and displayed, the quality of the pictures is extremely important.

So, rather than racking your brains for something really original before finally falling back on the same old safe choices, make your own photo book for a really personal present. It would make the ideal gift for a birthday, anniversary or as a Christmas gift. You could even create a photo book to offer on Mothers' Day or Fathers' Day.
