Works Fine For Me - Olympus Underwater Digital Camera Review

By Isabella Walker

The only way to add the date is during printing utilizing a PictBridge compatible printer. "0" stars if I could.

You only have to be a few inches away for it to focus. There are many different options with this camera.

It took acceptable photos in the pool and on a couple of snorkeling excursions. I've since used it on hiking trips when rain is expected and getting near waterfalls. All of my photos taken with the 6020 are perfect, unless I do something wrong. Read the directions and anyone who buys this great little camera will love it and have great success with sharp, clean, well colored photos!

Anyways, I was not happy with my vacation pictures, mainly because it did not produce 100% crystal clear picture quality. It may be a good camera to give to the kids but don't count on this as your main camera. I am not a pro when it comes to cameras, but I do know that 5 seconds from the time you push the power button until you can take a picture is unacceptable. I hadn't realized Olympus recommends changing the protective seal every year, so maybe that was the cause.

It's probably user error. Don't let the 1 star reviews scare you away. We thought it was just a glitch and moved on. I'm sure if you take proper care of the camera it will last and not leak. I purchased the 6020 for going on a Disney Bahamas cruise and it worked GREAT! I would have to return to the hotel to charge or not take any afternoon / night pictures. The camera would also stop focusing and the pictures came out blurry.

I needed something durable and small for taking pictures while out with my toddler. This camera has been through the ringer already when she plays with it! The pictures are great but I haven't tried underwater yet so far its good, but I've had to insert the memory card into my old camera to upload pictures because it doesn't register on MACs. Maybe there is compatible software out there I am unaware of" The iAuto mode rarely turned out a picture in focus and I had to take multiple of the same shot to get one decent one. Although I believe something was internally wrong with my camera, I was NEVER able to get an in focus picture when zooming more than half way in (using either digital or optical zoom).

User manual is in the on-board software that worked, so you always have it with you. Every electric device has some problems but this is still a great camera. It took me 3 calls to tech support to find this out.
