If you don't read the instructions, you have nothing to complain about as other reviewers have. This camera takes awesome photos.
Also the pictures always seemed to turn out blurry; I'd have to take several pictures of the same frame to get a good one. I tried every setting and always ended up with the same result. However, its good compare it to other point and shoot cameras. The 720p HD video is great to have as well. It has been about 3 months and now the camera won't even turn on. I'm sending it back to Olympus, we will see, I researched "Tough" Cameras for a few months before I made my purchase.
This camera definitely has great optical quality. It's a very thin camera and the user interface is very easy to use and smart. The pictures have always turned out great, and the waterproof / shockproof casing on it makes it the perfect camera for a klutz like me. The 720p video is great also, with pretty good audio when played off a computer.
Great price and I like the color choice I made. Highly recommend this camera for the adventurous.
Right off the bat, the front fascia (blue in my case) was easily dented by the charging cord bumping against it (which later cost me a restocking fee when I returned it because it was "damaged"). I thought it was supposed to be tough! After the third snorkeling session (camera no deeper than arm's length below the surface) and probably no more than 90 minutes in the water, the Olympus Stylus Tough 6020 camera died. Screen just flashes on and off. I wanted a camera to take in snorkeling and also one that I was not worried about getting wet if caught out in a rain shower. I have a Canon DSLR, but did not want to spend hundreds more for an underwater housing. I can see this getting stuck eventually" This is what happened to me. I put the camera in the ocean to see how a picture would look; upon taking the camera out of the water the camera was unresponsive and also the shutter failed to close completely. You decide if you want to pay more for fancy stuff. Good pick if you want an affordable, waterproof, backup camera. So, save your money and either buy another brand or just rent an underwater camera at one of the drive shops. When I got the camera in the mail I took it with me on a fishing trip. So, two days before my trip I returned this camera and bought a Sony TX5. The waterproof housing for the Olympus 6020 that makes it waterproof up to 120ft (for scuba) costs $339.00 while the waterproof housing for the Sony TX5, making it waterproof up to 120ft is $149.00 - and I got 15% off by buying the camera itself.
