The camera is built with appealing features that are suitable for the work of photography. Images can be captured in three image sizes. The camera is composed with 10.8megapixels that allows the maximum image size of 10megapixels. The images are saved in JPEG format using two compression levels.

High JPEG image qualities are achieved when fine compression level is used on images. Standard compression reduces the size of images allowing them to have large room for storage. RAW format is the other option used to store images in the camera.

The device has two sensitivity settings. The settings allow it to vary the ISO required by the surrounding light of the image. The two sensitivity settings are Lo80 which captures images in dark surroundings. The setting prevents loss of details in the shadows. The other setting is Hi200 that capture photos in bright surroundings. It helps you keep the details in the highlights.

It uses a Minolta A type mount lens. The device has noise reduction technology that reduces noise depending with the settings. You can use the eye-start AF that senses the presence of the user through the proximity sensor. The camera has an anti-blur feature. It has anti-dust characteristic that ensures build up dust due to static electricity is reduced.

Digital cameras in this model have many options for the user. The settings are adjusted according to the needs of users. It has menu buttons placed on the body of the camera. The buttons help you choose the settings you want. The buttons give you the options of replay, reset, delete and format or protect. You can view your images and print the dates taken in the camera.

Sony A100 comes with a rechargeable battery. The battery is fully charged within four hours. If the memory is full you can install an external memory in the memory card slot. You can connect the camera to a USB port or video connection using the dual use connection.
