Introducing Puerto Rican Salsa Musician Jerry Rivera

Jerry Rivera, Latin vocalist and known as Latin Grammy and Grammy awards nominee for his tracks was born in Humacao, Puerto Rico in 1973 placing him slightly earlier than Puerto Rican Reggaeton artists like Don Omar, Daddy Yankee and Tito el Bambino. Humacao, Puerto Rico is not one of several towns and cities next to San Juan but is a bit more east and south of San Juan. A couple of some other recognized Puerto Rican personalities likewise originated from Humacao, Puerto Rico. One was actually born in Santurce, Puerto Rico and migrated as a young child to Humacao and his name is Carlos Ponce born a year previous to Rivera in 1972. He is a singer, composer and acting professional. The other is Adamari Lopez, acting professional born in 1971.

Early Musical Family Years

As opposed to the other Latin Pop musicians from Puerto Rico which was raised in Puerto Rico Jerry Rivera was not only has been excited about the early artists but his mom and dad Edwin played the guitar and Dominga sang. He probably heard Tito Rojas who has been born in Humacao, Puerto Rico in 1955 and has been a salsa singing celebrity for quite some time. Furthermore Jerry family involved Edwin Rivera and his sister Saned were recording celebrities. His brothers Jose and Ito were professional instrumental musicians. So for his entire years as a child he was living with the impact of music. In 1986 he made an appearance with his idol Frankie Ruiz in a photo which he subsequently used on an album cover.

His Musical Life

He tend go with his mother and father to their shows as a kid. His entire musical family influenced his own life towards music. His album published in 2003 devoted to Canto a mi idolo Frankie Ruiz contained that image taken at a hotel where Jerry Ruiz has been performing on the cover. Jerry Ruiz was born in New York in 1958 but migrated to Puerto Rico in 1976. In 1986 he came across Jerry Rivera. He dies an early death as a result of drug usage subsequently AIDS. Even so he inspired Jerry in many ways.

An Early Singing Career

He first was heard by CBS in 1986. He was born Geraldo Rivera Rodriguez but uses Jerry Rivera as his artist name. His father made the demo that he then sent to CBS and CBS signed him on. After he released his first album Empezando a Vivir with Sony Studios in 1986 he picked up the nickname El Bebe de la Salsa loosely translated as the salsa baby but he is no longer referred to by that nickname as he has made a career of singing Latin salsa. This first album Empezando a Vivir contained the hit single song De La Cabeza A Los Pies. The Next Albums And Going Platinum His second album Abriendo Puertas contained not one but four hits that all went to number one in Puerto Rico, then with Hispanic listeners in the US and onto the rest of Latin America. His third album Cuenta Conmigo won three Platinum records Awards in Puerto Rico, US, Columbia and Venezuela.
