Dark Fiction Is Another Term For Horror

Dark fiction is genre of writing, which primarily consists of horror. In such writing, there is an element of vagueness and horror. It wouldn't be wrong to say that it is another name for horror. It could consist of either suspense, horror or a mixture of both. The writing style varies from author to author. Irrespective of their writing style, they must have ingredients like thrill and excitement.

The term dark is mostly associated with something, that is horrifying, surprising and ambiguous. In these types of books, stories have a varied ending. In the past, writers were only restricted to including horror, but it has changed with time.

New age writers have started to bring transformations in their writing style. Their writings consist of more than pure and simple horror. In most of these stories, the lines of horror have been surpassed. Both dark fantasy and dark fiction have the same meaning. They can be used interchangeably.

These stories have tales that are interesting, fearful and thrilling. Nowadays, both famous and fresh authors have begun experimenting. Most of these types of stories begin with the narration of the main character or the lead hero. They have transformed the field of this literature.

The new style and ideas introduced in these stories are aimed at keeping the readers engrossed throughout. This has surely led the increase in sales of these specific books and magazines. Authors of these books have well researched ideas and write in detailed fashion.

Although the stories are similar, their endings might differ. The ending could be gloomy, tragic, happy or incomplete. A lot depends on the reader, if they prefer a pure thriller the dark fiction is just perfect for them. If the reader is scared then the author has done their job.
