Korg Monotron A New Analogue Musical Instrument

By Thomas Penske

This Korg Monotron is an electronic digital musical instrument that aids in the synthesizing and recreations of software. This is pocket sized and all analog instrument with miniature ribbon keyboard and a speaker headphone jack built in. At the price it has many charms making it a worthwhile product. Small enough to be carried and yet has a powerful thick sound.

Simple movements of the fingers can create a vibrato and glide effect to add to or enhance sound being made. The ribbon keyboard has a full octave and expression borrowing, and has become very popular, being able to perform with a simple touch.

This is a simple yes effective device with an output for headsets, or whatever might be needed. Pitch and cut out can be modulated and adjusted as needed manually. Frequency and voltage oscillators and one voltage controlled filter make this an easy to use instrument.

Parameters and preset lists are no longer needed with this instrument. With encouraged use and experimenting for sound exploration, the knobs directly apply the specific changes to each sound. The knobs apply very specific sounds to the process of tweaking and getting the sounds wanted in an easier way.

The Monotron is self-contained and has a built in speaker that does a wonderful job. Resonance set on evil and turn up the volume this will definitely put the fear in lurkers. The mini jack output connect to the mixer where the experimenting can begin, just start turning knobs to find the sounds wanted.

In conclusion this is a group that does not miss a trick. Purchasing this will be an easy decision considering all the attributes it has. There is nothing even close to it that would be considered remotely comparable. Simply powered with batteries or an AC/DC adapter With Korg Monotron it has a miniature synthesizer with personality.
