What Is Available In Dance Orlando

You may decide to do dance Orlando for a number of different reasons. Perhaps it is a social activity you participate in with friends, or you wish to keep fit or you just enjoy dancing.

There are several different dancing styles available in the city. You may decide to learn tap dancing. This is a style of dancing that was first seen in the early 1900s by minstrel dancers. It was made famous during 1920s and 30s by Bill Bojangles Robinson who later went on to star with Shirley Temple. Temple was also a well known tap dancer in her own right.

Salsa dancing is very much in vogue in this city and there are a number of salsa clubs to choose from. They form an integral part of the buzzing nightlife in the locality. The style made it to this area from Cuba. In a salsa club you will hear the exotic rhythms of Rumba music. This is a combination of Afro, Latin sounds just as Salsa is a blend of Afro, Latin movements. It normally takes two people for Salsa dancing.

There has been a resurgence of interest in Ballroom dancing in Florida. A number of full size ballrooms exist in the city. This is really an opportunity to get dressed up. Slightly more modern but also with its roots in big band orchestra music is swing dancing which is also growing in popularity around town. Seasoned dancers can join one of the many dancing competitions for the ballroom or swing dancing styles.

Break dancing and street dancing are the styles most associated with the young in this area. It is the movement style that accompanies hip music and has only recently gained recognition as a serious dancing style. Today street dancing can be practiced at a number of local studios.
