Unusual Methods For Designing With Colorful Paper And Envelopes

By Laura B Olson

Many people are looking for creative ideas when scrapbook. Designing with colorful paper and envelopes is one trend that opens new possibilities. The correspondence received daily can provide boundless sources for ideas for new and unique pages. The greatest advantage is that crafters are no longer limited by the embellishment choices found in stores.

When colorful correspondence arrives, setting it aside to use in a new way called "paper piecing" is a better alternative than throwing it away. In this way the person who wrote the note, card, or letter is memorialized. By using pieces from this type of communication, distinct adornments may be created that enhance any photo page.

The choices that are possible through utilizing this technique are only limited by imagination. Creating a background of an underwater world including a mermaid could serve as a perfect background for a trip to the coast. On the other hand, those first trips to Disneyland could be immortalized by building the castle or some of the characters.

Many websites have also picked up on this new trend and now provide templates for those who feel they need a little support. Frequently, layout pages include specific directions which make putting them together much easier. However, coloring books and many other items may be cut apart to make patterns as well.

To accomplish any ornamentation, after gathering all the needed supplies along with some colored stationery, a pattern can be created or copied and then transferred onto the pages selected. Pieces can be cut from different-colored sheets, then assembled and glued into place. Details may then be added.

The scope of designing with colorful paper and envelopes is only limited by your imagination. Using stationery for scrap-booking can be creative, versatile, and lots of fun. Best of all, each page will have multiple meanings because the origin for each project came from your thoughts of someone special.
