Adobe Elements 7 - Latest Tools And Upgrades

By David Peters

Most computer users are familiar with newer versions of their favorite software program coming on the market. With each new version you are usually guaranteed something new and exciting and this is certainly true with Adobe software programs. A common disbelief is that older versions will no longer work and I am very glad to say that this is completely untrue. Older versions of updated software will continue to perform just as they always did. Unfortunately you will not receive any of the newer features or upgraded support elements unless you update your software.

Adobes first foray into the digital editing arena was with Photoshop and it soon became apparent to the software developers that they also needed a ?lite? version for those who only wanted photo editing capabilities without all the bells and whistles that accompany Photoshop. Giving into this need they created Photoshop Elements which allows people to easily edit their photos without needing loads of training first.

As with most programs, Elements has been reworked a few times and Adobe is currently releasing version 7. In my opinion Adobe Elements 7 is probably the smartest version of Elements ever. With version 7 Adobe has increased the number of tools available, making it more closely resemble the professional version of Photoshop. Now, when using Photoshop Elements, you are able to edit your photos just as if you had done it professionally with the Photoshop software.

Another change in version 7 is the user-interface which makes the program much more user friendly than in previous versions. If you haven?t already upgraded you may be wondering what the new features include.

One of the main new features included in Elements 7 is an organizer that allows you to label your images for easy sorting and finding. The organizer also allows you to work on a variety of images simultaneously. One of my favorite new features is the fix button. The fix button combiners all of the most commonly used tools when you are editing an image. Some of these common tools you will use repeatedly include the smudge, blur and sharpen tool.

The create panel which allows you to make a calendar, slide-show and so much more. So if you wish you can take an image go to the create panel and click calendar and you can make for yourself a personalized calendar with your desired photo.

The most impressive feature on Adobe Elements 7 is the share feature. With this feature you will be able to share your photo albums via the Internet using programs like face book and other community networks. You will also be able to send your image using the share feature via e-mail. If you wish to save your images on removable media the share feature allows you to copy your images on CD/DVD.

These are just some of the new features that are in Adobe Elements 7 which make it different from the other versions.
