Specific On Employing Or Constructing A Green Screen Studio

By Trevor Weir

Green screen studios are becoming very popular in the film industry as many movies that involve special effects will need a special studio. You can build your own studio or you can rent an available studio.

You will need someone that understands how a green screen works as there is a lot too it as the lighting is very important. You may find that renting a green screen studio is less expensive than building your own depending on your need.

Green screen is used to mix two different images together. The green color is used as it is preferred by film makers though other colors can be used. Unlike other colors green does not need as much light as other colors. However the lighting of the studio is extremely important and you need the correct equipment such as the chroma key technology.

If you are building your own green screen then you need to be picky about the type of green material you chose. Opaque green material that reflects as little light as possible is the best, though all material will reflect a small amount of light. Using a green screen background is much more sensitive than using a normal background so you want to take the time to get the perfect material.

Lighter green material is much better then darker green and you want to go as bright as you can. However there is a fine line between yellow and green and you don't want the green to be confused with yellow. If you cannot decide if the color is yellow or green then you shouldn't use it. This will cause problems with post editing.

Additionally working with fabric can be a problem because it wrinkles easily. The best material is wrinkle free as you do not want to always have to be ironing. This can save you a lot of time. It is important to be picky with the type of material that you get for your green screen studio.
