Coordinating A Photographer For Your Wedding Day

By Alwin Gold

Getting your wedding ready can be overwhelming, and selecting the perfect wedding photographer is a huge part of the planning. Check out the work of several photographers before choosing one who seems a good fit with your style and vision of how you'd like your wedding represented.

1. Examine the photos.

It may be that the most crucial part of selecting a wedding photographer is the pictures they shoot! When inspecting their work, be honest, do you like the photography? Are you pleased with the way the album is designed and put together? Are the picture images in vivid color and sharp focus?

2. Look into the business.

The bigger wedding photography studios have multiple photographers and you should verify who will be working your wedding and review their past work. An operator that is smaller is the other choice. You almost always know who will be there on your special day, you have already seen the quality of their work, and they often provide a better, more personalized service.

3. Planning your Photographic Requirements.

When you locate the professional wedding photographer you want, you should schedule a meeting to discuss the photos you want taken and to plan the photo sessions. It's worth it to plan ahead, because on the big day the photos will look more relaxed and beautiful. When you schedule things, you give yourself enough time to meet all of your goals like a slow paced photo shoot with flattering light.

When you meet with the photographer to discuss your day, you will need to make a decision about the number of photos desired. You and the photographer will break the wedding day into 4 stages for photos: pre-wedding, the actual ceremony, any organized or location shots, and last but not least, the reception.

Upon deciding on a wedding photographer, you can relax, smile and take pleasure in your wedding day.
