Hollywood's search for new and exciting places has gone to Tokyo, which is more exotic location and allows the audience to be pulled into a movie. A film produced in Tokyo will definitely engulf the audience to an unimaginable experience. Even if the city is still old fashioned, it helps the film production to bring a world of realistic future.

Movies are a way to get to see the world even if you will never be able to see those wonderful places and sceneries. You can just sit in a cinema hall, watch the movie and imagine yourself enjoying those beautiful scenic spots.

There are many movies, which are filmed in other locations but shows Japan in movies. The following are the 5 most famous Hollywood movies, which were filmed in Tokyo:

Letters from Iwo Jima

One of the most realistic war movies of all time gives the movie audience a peek into the Battle of Iwo Jima. Director and Producer Clint Eastwood transformed the set into the infamous battle allowing the viewer to see the war from the aspect of two Japanese soldiers. While using the authentic location of Tokyo, the film crew transformed the set to look like a Japan of the past.

The Last Samurai

Next on the schedule is another war movie, which starred Tom Cruise. Identical to Letters from Iwo Jima only in the feature that Tokyo was converted into a world of the past. This film narrates the story of a troubled American soldier while he searches inner peace living at a remote Japanese village.

Kill Bill

Kill Bill, shot entirely in exotic locations, was divided into two parts for world wide audience and is an epic journey about old fashioned characters in true Japanese style.

The Grudge

As a horror film The Grudge, with the aid of the director of the original Japanese movie, takes the audience into one of the scariest journeys ever. Filmed on location in Tokyo this horror flick shows us a side of Japan that will remain one of the scariest movies ever watched. Audiences worldwide have agreed that Japan remains to be one of the best locations for horror films because of the unknown quality that exudes from their atmosphere.

Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift

Truly one of the most famous of movies filmed in Tokyo and also the least famous movie in the Fast and Furious franchise. This movie stands top in action with a superb story of a young American man becoming part of illegal street racing in Tokyo.
