Imagine a world where you feel like you are the only one who understands who you really are; Sucker Punch is a great movie with nonstop action that will tantalize the craziest of viewers. We all know that life is a series of choices, but sometimes many of us don't get to choose. This movie revolves around a girl who has lost everything that she has ever held dear.
In the beginning she seems to have a fairy tale life within a loving family. But things quickly turn once her mother dies and her step father takes over the family. Funny how people change when their masks are removed due to tragedy. Suddenly, her stepfather becomes a monster and starts to be both physically and mentally abusive.
The plot twists are captivating in Sucker Punch and each one will surprise you. It will have you grabbing the edge of your seat as the action unfolds before your eyes. The young lady, called Babydoll, tries to escape this drama by shutting down her mind. It is a mystery of how one can manage this, but then again, when you are in so much pain it seems like the only thing to do to ease it.
After her stepfather has her committed to a mental institution, Babydoll refuses to talk to anyone or let anyone know what is going on in her mind. Of course, the institution she is committed to evil, and the caretakers just pick up with the abuse where her stepfather left off. There are other girls there as well, each of them trying to find ways out, physically or mentally. Babydoll's silent abyss becomes her means of escape.
She knows she is not insane, but her "jailers" think she is because she absolutely will not communicate with them. As things bear down on her she falls further into hiding within her own mind. She then imagines other worlds and realizes that she can escape if she beats the bosses within those worlds. The five levels resemble a video game. If she survives these tests she will return back to the outside world.
The Sucker Punch movie is a must see on the big screens and with the stereo of IMAX. It is sort of a video game and has as many levels. You've got to see this one, being released on March 25, 2011.
