Reasons to always keep a few copies of your passport photos

By Rob Jackson

Passport photos are always very useful to have when travelling anywhere abroad. Although you may have all of your current paperwork, passports, and visa requirements, you never know when you might lose one of them. Having spare photos will ensure that you do not need to spend valuable time searching for a company to take your passport photo. The requirements for those photos are very strict and differ from place to place, and therefore can be time consuming.

When visiting many different countries you will need to have your visas granted before travel, however, there are a few that you can apply for whilst travelling. If you intend to do this, you will need copies of the appropriate paperwork alongside these photos. The process may take some time, and anything that you can do to assist this will be a bonus.

Passport pictures have to be the correct size and style when applying for any legal documents. They need to be taken professionally to ensure that they are the correct ones. Although the forms are straightforward, the most important part is the photo. You will need to ensure that all the guidelines are met, and that they are the correct type. Having the correct photos taken can be quite costly, so it is worth having one full set taken.

If you need spare photos whilst you are travelling, you will have them to spare saving you valuable time and money. No one wants to spend his or her holiday trying to find a professional shop or photographer to take those photos. You will be surprised how many times people lose their passports and have no way of having the new photos taken. You will not be allowed to travel home without a passport or some form of ID which has a photo on it, and can remain stuck in the country that you are visiting.

Having spare photos can make all the difference between being able to get home, and being held in a foreign country. Although carrying spare photos is important you should also photocopy your passport, and keep all telephone numbers of importance with your documents in a safe place. You will be surprised the number of people that forget to carry spare documents with them. They should be top of our list of must have items to take on holiday with you.

Planning and organisation are essential when trying to plan any holiday, and although you always hope nothing will go wrong it sometimes can do. By having spare passport-sized photos that have been signed and stamped in your foreign office you can cut out any of the waiting time when they are needed. They are small enough to carry easily, and you won't even remember you have them on you until you really need them.

Although you want to relax and have a great time whilst on holiday, you need to be aware, and careful with all of your documents. Many people simply lose their passport through being careless, and others may have it stolen. Whatever reason you no longer have it, the whole situation will be stressful. Knowing that you can easily use the photos that you are carrying with you and re apply for the passport can be a weight off your mind.
