RC Helicopters To Get Aerial Photos Now

By Wyatt Schloemer

To take aerial photography, they usually use RC helicopters for some time now. Because of the press and media people now know what is possible and this gave rise to using this method. Technology today has been much safer, reliable and cheaper plus a few innovations have been available.

Having your own aerial photography up in the air. Three main things to know:

- the airframe you want to use for your helicopter - Control system and view of your camera - Autopilot control of the helicopter

Before deciding on the type of remote control helicopter to use you must first know what camera you will be using and its weight.. If you are considering your budget, you can use a smaller remote control helicopter to lift the camera with a light weight. If you want to use a DSLR for your aerial photography you better choose a bigger remote control helicopter since its quite heavy. Use less vibrations and noise on electric motors. Good quality helicopters, being able to endure heavy lifting and can be modified is the right choice of remote control helicopters, example would be the Align and Maxi Joker series.

You should be comfortable in flying your remote control helicopter when you have one readily available. Then after it is in the air, you can check where you can place your camera perfectly. Either place works but it is preferred to use the front mounting since it is easier to isolate from vibrations and easy to maneuver angle or filming. Placing the batteries below the tail can set-off the weight. It is really worth buying an expensive mount since it can prevent vibrations. Remote control helicopters can still be controlled even if you will use a second radio system and a second operator. Even though you are taking aerial photography up in the air, you can still view the shots from the ground using a video link and also other functions are still possible to do like shutter and others.

With the advancement of certain technologies, commercial markets are now selling this new inventions and the remote control helicopters have been stabilized in terms of flying. Having at least the basic system will allow you to shoot with a stable platform.. If you know how to fly a helicopter, then it's enough. With the right budget for the outlay, it can have an autopilot system that will let your aerial photography fly without manual input via pre-programmed GPS way points. Even though its a remote controlled helicopter, still safety is of particular importance, starting from the second it takes off, to staying gin the air and until returning to land and this is usually being set up by the system.
