By Fermi S. Xavier

Almost everybody has had a daydream about being discovered by some Hollywood producer and being turned into an instant star. However, it usually doesn't work out like that. The big name actors of today have worked long and hard to get where they want to go. But that doesn't mean the door is shut when it comes to working in Hollywood. The are a lot of other opportunities.

A great way to get in on the action is to write a script. If you've been to the movies lately, then you know that Hollywood is dying for some new material. They've made so many remakes and sequels that any new ideas would be welcome. If you've got some ideas in your head, put them down in the form of a story, and submit it to a few agents. You might get lucky.

One thing you can do if you have the cash is become a producer. You'll notice that most movies have several producers as well as executive producers. You may as well get in on the action. You can start small, and work your way up as your movies become more and more successful.

If you like getting your hands dirty, you could become a cameraman. These guys are always right there in the middle of all the action. Most people are surprised when they find out how much in demand these jobs are. You will need to go to technical school for this, and it may take some time to earn your reputation, but once you do, you'll never look back.

Behind the scenes work is always in demand as well. If you are a computer programmer you can work on the special effects, or you can do audio effects if you are creative with various sound producing instruments. This can be one of the greatest jobs ever.

If you really want to shoot for the top, you can strive to become a director someday. The great thing about this is that you can start out small, and work your way up. It only takes a couple of small successes to get recognized on a large scale. Of course, you'll need some kind of specialized training, which only film schools can provide.

Plenty of people have found amazing success at these jobs and many more in the movie industry. Just decide on which one is right for you, and get started. Never give up, and keep chasing your dream.
