Beginning A Photography Blog is Easy

By Lauren Kay

Digital photos are everywhere you look these days! It seems like just about everyone has a digital camera these days that can take photographs of just about anything in a matter of seconds. Working with electronic photographs instead of the traditional film and paper print photos is cheap, there is no wasted paper to end up in the garbage and they take up almost no physical space at all!

There are lots of different ways to share your photos, from electronic picture frames to printing them out to storing them on your cell phone. Beginning your own web log is a great hobby for almost anyone, whether you are a busy mother, high school student or even a retired person. Whether you're a pro photographer or an amateur photography novice you'll still appreciate the convenience of digital photography. And what's better than just snapping lots of digital pictures is the easy way you can share them with others.

One of the newest ways to share your photos to others is with a photography blog. A blog is a website that allows an photographer to publish instant updates onto Internet about just about any subject imaginable. A photo "web log" can include the digital photographs you took on any given day or trip. You can include comments about your photographs and you can inform people about why you took the photos and where you were when you took them.

Most blogging websites are easy to get started with. To begin a photo blog you only need to find some free blogging websites and pick a blog name. You simply write your ideas out in a post, insert your digital photos from your PC and the blogging site pretty much does the rest. When you are satisfied with a post you "publish" it and everyone on the planet can instantly read it!

Remember a blog can be a 2-way communication tool! With a photo blog you can not only share your photos with others but you can also allow people to comment on your posts. Getting feedback from visitors to your web log is part of the excitement of putting your images online. If you allow comments on your images then you can also learn what other people like and don't like about your images.

Don't worry about always composing a article that's going to make other people happy. It's your photography blog and you can put up pictures of whatever you like. You can post images of a local tourist attraction one day and then put up images of some trees in your back yard the next day. Just try to enjoy the ability to publish your digital photos so easily with your own blog!
