The World of Display Easels

By Kylie Scott

When you decide you want to look for display easels, what are you looking for? Are you after an artist's easel? Do you want a small tabletop easel? Do you need something for your boutique or restaurant or is it for the home? When most people start looking for them, they have a very limited range of options in mind. Then, when they find a website that specializes in display easels, they realize just what a wide range of options they have to choose from.

Let's start with floor easels. The basic tripod artist's style is just the beginning. For display purposes, one of these can be very nice for showing off your favorite painting without hanging it on the wall. By mounting it on an easel in the home or in a gallery, it attracts attention to the painting, allows you to move or change the painting on a whim and doesn't require wall space that may not be appropriate for the artwork on display.

Aside from these, there are many other display easels to choose from to serve any number of needs. Bifold easels, for instance, are lightweight and unobtrusive. They are space saving and very transportable.

Both of these basic designs, the tripod easel and the bi-fold stand, can be found made from just about any kind of sturdy material. Wooden ones can be as simple as a few sticks of pine or as elegant as hand-sculpted pieces of fine cherrywood or other exotic wood. Metal stands are made from wrought iron, lightweight aluminum or even brass, copper or bronze.

There is an even greater wealth of designs to choose from. Some of the wrought iron display easels come in just about any whimsical style you can imagine. Everything from a rustic freeform style to an imaginative design. A wrought iron fish for holding the chalkboard menu outside a fish restaurant is just one example among dozens.

There are conceivably even more design ideas to choose from in tabletop display easels. Think of something you could use one for. How about an intricately patterned brass easel for displaying your family portrait? Or perhaps you want a nickel-plated art deco design for a matching print from the era. How about a cookbook easel that holds your page for you to read from as you work?

Aside from being the perfect presentation solution, they are worthy of display themselves and some could easily stand alone as objects of art. In fact, many people consider them to be collectibles in their own right.

You have only had a taste of the wide world of display easels. Check out the enormous range of products available online. You won't believe how many there are to choose from!
