Unique Australian Action Adventure Movie Is Worth Watching

The Tomorrow When the War Began movie is based mostly on the book of the identical name, written by prominent Australian author, John Marsden. The book has a substantial following of young adult readers and has sold over 2 million copies in Australia and New Zealand - though truth be told, a great number of their parents have read and really enjoyed the book as well.

The book has now been adapted for the big screen by script writer Stuart Beattie, who also wrote the screenplays for the "Pirates of The Caribbean; Curse of The Black Pearl", and "Australia" among other films. Beattie is additionally directing the Tomorrow When The War Began motion picture, and this will be his first experience as the director of a film.

Well known young Australian actors, known for their various roles in Australian TV and film productions, make up the bulk of the cast

The storyline starts out in the rural fictional town of Wirrawee, where a group of seven young adults deciding to go away camping in an isolated bushland area called "Hell" just before school starts back. The town happens to be celebrating their annual Commemorative Day festivities while the group are away, so they don't think it strange to observe aeroplanes flying overhead while they're away camping. They imagine it's just part of the celebrations.

When they arrive back home from their camping trip, they are distraught to find their homes have been abandoned by their families and their animals have been left to die from starvation. Then they realise they can't phone reception for their mobile phones and that there's no electrical power.

The adolescents are perplexed as to what could have taken place in their absence, so sensing some kind of danger, they decide to wait til its dark and go into town to observe anything out of the ordinary. Risking their own safety, they ascertain soon enough what has occurred; the town has been invaded by an unidentified enemy force who are holding their the entire families captive at the local showground

The story then continues on to show the teenagers doing what they can to wreck chaos on the enemy force using guerrilla tactics to try to free their loved ones and towns people. There's lots of action and adventure in this motion picture; and a bit of romance, as we watch the adolescents struggle against enormous odds to try and thwart the enemy forces and survive the bizarre scenario they find themselves in.
